no longer takes a bottle

This was Easter Sunday. I love Hollis's expression on his face. We were at Zach's parents all weekend and went to his Granny's on Sunday. Hollis got to have his Easter basket on Sat. morning bc we would not have much time on Sunday and he would not know the difference.

We colored eggs on Sat. night and yes this was my first time to do that. Crystal, Zach, and I had fun doing it too.

There is always a crowd at her house with so much going on.Hollis did not care what was going on as long as he was outside.

Birthday Boy

Celebrating Hollis's 1st Birthday.

We started the day eating out breakfast and then we got some balloons. He loves riding with his car seat turned around and thinks he is so big. Big Boy Tennis Shoes and Auburn Sweatshirt that was my dad's when he was little.We had a family cookout with hotdogs and hamburgers on the grill.

The weather was fantastic! We all just sat outside and enjoyed it.

No blow up bouncers, or petting zoos for us. The kids' entertainement was riding in the wagon in the yard.

and yes Hollis just has his diaper on bc it was after cake

Most kids don't really like their cake....Hollis could not get enough of it. I think he might have eaten the whole thing if I would of let him. I even tried to give him some ice cream and he wanted the cake back
Yum Thanks to everyone that came. It was a great celebration. We have had a great 1st year with Hollis in our lives and look forward to many more together.

Blessed

This is Zach. Kim does the blogging around here, but her and Hollis are taking a nap and thought I would get on here to write a little something. The reason im writing this is because it's days like today that make me realize how blessed I truly am.

Today my little boy turned one. I am so proud of him and so thankful to God for his blessing us with such a wonderful little boy.

Thank you to Kim for giving me such a perfect little boy one year ago today. You are a great mother and we are both so lucky that we have you.

Lovin the Sun

We are loving this weather!!! We went to the park today with some friends. Hopefully Kristen will put up some of the many pictures she took up. I got my camera out at the end. Hollis could stay outside all day. He crawls all over the playground and loves going down the slide head 1st. We stayed longer than everyone else. Hollis played on the slide with this sweet little girl named Annie for a long time. He gets a gold star today because he did not even try to eat the mulch. Sun in his eyesloves pushin his car around

11 Months

Hollis is 11 months and full of energy. This is his reaction to most things.

At 11 months Hollis....

makes the noise "sssss" at objects

understands some stuff we tell him (like go get your ball)

moves, moves, moves

claps for himself when playing balls

dips his face in the bath water

loves music and head bobbing

is shy to stranger but can warm up

climbs up and down stairs

puts food behind his back when he is done eating

hands me his sippy cup when done, sometimes(instead of hurling it on the floor)

likes to feed us cheerios
